If you’re struggling with trauma, addiction, or navigating a difficult time in your life, I’m here to help. With over 30 years of experience in Social Services, I specialize in Mental Health, Crisis Intervention, Addiction, and Trauma. As a registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, I offer the expertise and compassionate care needed to support you on your journey to healing.
My educational background includes undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Social Work, as well as a Master’s Degree in Social Work from McGill University. Throughout my career, I have focused on providing one-on-one therapy and facilitating various groups, particularly in the area of trauma and addiction. My work has brought me into close contact with recent assault victims, individuals dealing with historical trauma, and survivors of domestic violence. I am experienced in conducting ongoing risk assessments, developing safety plans, and delivering effective trauma therapy.
Beyond my clinical work, I’ve also dedicated myself to training other service providers on important issues, such as LGBTQ2+ concerns, ensuring that counselors are well-equipped to offer inclusive and informed care.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing from formal training in EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. As a certified Traumatologist, having received my certification from the Traumatology Institute under Dr. Anna Baranowsky, I’m committed to using the best tools and techniques to help you heal.
I believe that effective counseling begins with truly understanding each client’s unique circumstances. There is no one-size-fits-all solution, which is why I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. I understand that reaching out for help can be daunting, and I’m committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges and work toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
My passion for helping others through their most challenging times has been the driving force behind my career. Together, we will work toward creating positive changes, helping you find the strength and resilience to move forward. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
